Friday I tried my first Pinterest inspired arts and crafts project. I’m giving it to B for Christmas. She’ll take the Michigan mug with her and I’ll keep the Oregon mug.
It’s a really easy project to to try and pretty affordable too.
2 Mugs (Target $3.50 each)
Permanent marker ($4)
Scissors
Tape
Printed image of states
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Step 2: Decorate mug
Step 3: Bake for 45 minutes
The printed image was an addition of mine to the Pinterest project. I’m happy with my art skills but I didn’t want to take a chance on messing up. Taping the imagine and tracing it worked really well. I went over the outline twice to make sure it was dark enough. I drew the hearts on our respective locations and marked the line to connect. The biggest challenge was writing inside of the mug. I had to write upside down and it wasn’t easy. My handwriting is poor on a good day so that really didn’t help. Regardless I think it’s good enough and I hope B will like it.
