I hosted my first cocktail party at the new place this weekend and I think it went really well! I had a lot of fun and I think our guests enjoyed themselves also. Planning a party for 11 kids is A LOT easier than having one for 11 other adults. Some lessons I learned from my last party is don’t go overboard. I kept drilling that idea in my head so much I almost went underboard. However, Friday I spent quite awhile at Meijer savaging every aisle and developing a rather solid menu.
I started out the party with a glass of wine and a couple cocktail Jell-O shots so I’m only now realizing I didn’t take very many pictures! I’m particularly bummed I don’t have any shots of the basement that included our new little love seat from Todd. The good news is I can’t recreate any moments because I work up before around 9:00 to clean everything up.
Menu:
Drinks
Wines of all variety
French Quarter Cocktail (very popular)
Bud Light (for beer pong and guests brought other kinds)
Non alcoholic options
Snacks
Bruschetta
Chips and dips (bean, queso and salsa)
Sweet and Sour Meatballs
Honey BBQ Chicken Wings
Dessert
Margarita Cupcakes
Guinness Cupcakes
Berry Blue Jell-O Shots
I made up the cupcake recipe and will be posting it. They were really popular.
While I didn’t get pics of our place I did get pictures with the guests (except Garrett and Brett – opps).
