I’m short on free time these days so reading has gone to the wayside and my book list is piling up – literally. My Book of the Month credits need to be used since there was a double account issue so I keep getting books and haven’t been able to start any of them.
I recently saw an article about how kids become readers when they see their parents read. I knew this but was glad for the reminder. My kids definitely see me more at a computer or with my phone than with a books. I can’t do too much to change that since it’s my work but I can make sure they see me with books too.
I’m currently reading the Notorious RBG and when I’m done I’ll be moving on to one of these. Have you read any of these books? What would you read first?
- The Golden Hour by Beatriz Williams
Lifestyles of the rich and famous—during WWII. - This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger
A coming-of-age odyssey that’ll leave you in awe of the rawness of the Great Depression and the American Midwest. - The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
What are we capable of when survival is the only thing that matters? - The Clockmaker’s Daughter by Kate Morton
A satchel, a sketchbook, and a photograph connect the lives of a present-day archivist and a mysterious Victorian woman in this sweeping tale told across a century. - The Fountains of Silence by Ruta Sepetys
Like a juicy history lesson. Unearth a hidden time in Spain full of hardship, family duty, and scandal.
Carrie, I have not read any of these, although I have read (and liked) several of the authors so will add these to my list. thanks for the suggestions.
