What a weekend. Plenty busy and a wide variety of issues but I’ll focus on the positive. I spent plenty of time with Mr. B and it was fun. I finally convinced him to go see Lincoln. I didn’t know if he’d be okay with it just being us two but Danny talked to him about it on Thursday and told him he wasn’t going to go. Apparently, he was still a little nervous about how it would look to other people but Mary told him he was just being silly.
It was my second time seeing the movie and I have so many good things to say about it I’ve ended up saying nothing. It’s nothing short of brilliant. Daniel Day Lewis is phenomenal and deserves all the awards. I have a new appreciation for Lincoln after seeing this film and really want to read more about him.
Back to Mr. B. Since we’re facing expensive car repairs and he offered to take us out to dinner to cheer us up. We went to Noodles & Co. and to my chagrin ended up talking politics. We are polar opposites so I like to avoid it at all costs since I am very passionate. Thankfully, it was fine. I actually used the opportunity to talk about some of my recent victories at work. I was also able to tell him where I work since it turns out he had no idea.
Sunday there was a memorial at Angela Hospice for people who lost loved ones at the end of September and early October. Danny had to work but I went with Mary, Nick, Mr. B and Ann. Mr. B said a few words and it was very touching. The coordinator of the event made a special mention of Mrs. B and we appreciated that. I made a key lime pie that day for dinner with Aunt Margaret and brought a slice over to Mr. B in the evening and he was happy to have it.
