Merry and Bright

I love decorating for the holidays.  I like to think of our house as a Macy’s window and we keep it festive inside.  Each year we add a couple new pieces to our decor and this time I made some fun DIY projects.  As usual the chalkboard was updated.  It’s the same rectangle frame even though it appears square in this picture.

Instagarland: I was thrilled to learn that Walgreens prints square photos because so many of my mobile pictures end up on Instagram.  Since we have massive empty wall space in the kitchen I decided to make a collage to display this year’s highlights.  It’s a cute reminder of  2014 activities.  In January, I’ll take the pictures to Office Depot and have them bound for a mini photo-album.

Anniversary Frame: I saw something similar on Pinterest and had to recreate it. The mini Christmas bulbs commemorate each Christmas we’ve been married.  The frame is from IKEA with scrapbook paper as the background.  The quote is appropriate and one of our favorite Christmas songs. The entire project cost about $20 and we have bulbs to last another 21 years.

I went Michaels in a shopping mood, an emblem greeted me at the door and I couldn’t resist.  I’m still enough of a newlywed that it excites me to be a Budzinski. I don’t scribble it down in notebooks anymore but a big B is a nice reminder.
