It’s 2016! I remember when it was 1999… crazy.
A new year is a clean slate and time for resolutions and planning. I’m all for both but this year I’m trying to be realistic. Our life is going to change in an unknown way and so a top goal is to be kind to myself. There will be inevitable challenges but I am fortunate to have a great support system.
Other items on the list… we have set some modest financial goals that I hope are achievable. I would love to be able to run in the summer. I want to eat better – no fast food, no pop, less processed foods, and more vegetables. I also want to curb the screen-time addiction, I hate that I check my phone as often as I do and that I’ve been watching the television screen more than reading or doing something else productive. It’s a challenge when work is tied to your phone but balance is key.
Mostly, I want to be a good wife and mom. I want to make sure Danny and I have quality time as a couple and aren’t consumed by our new role as parents. And I want to make sure Lucas is happy, healthy and safe every day – since those things aren’t necessarily in my control, I at least want him to know and never doubt that he is loved.
Here’s to peace and happiness in the new year!
