Month 8

The look of a sick and stuffy pregnant lady…

Less than two months away from meeting Lucas. It’s exciting and nerve-wrecking simultaneously. Honestly, my nerves are being wrecked regardless. This kid’s movement is consistently inconsistent and I can never tell if he’s a narcoleptic like me, chill like Danny or distressed. The fact that recognizing the latter falls squarely on my shoulders and is dependent mainly on my ‘mommy instinct’ is horrifying. I need some actual science doctors – another ultrasound would also be nice…

How far along?  31 weeks and 5 days
Total weight gain/loss: 30lbs at least.
Maternity clothes? Yes. I’ve even reached the point where I need to borrow Danny’s pajama pants – very fashion forward.
Stretch marks? No – I make Danny give me a Burt’s Beeswax rub down in the evening.
Sleep: I’m enjoying every minute of sleep now because I know once he is born I’ll never sleep soundly again. Note to anyone who comes to visit, I will ask you to make sure Lucas is breathing while I nap.
Best moment to date: His kicks and punches always. A more recent moment is Danny buying him a swim kit for their summer at the pool. Lucas is so lucky to have him for his dad.
Miss Anything? Not lately.
Movement: Yes but he is far from reliable about it. I fear he would fail a stress test because cold water, loud noises and poking rarely entice him.
Food cravings: Nope.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still on the meds so I’m good.
Have you started to show yet: Definitely.
Gender: Boy – Lucas Mikhail
Looking forward to: Enjoying these last weeks with my Wordbird. I can’t wait to meet Lucas but I love these years with just Danny too.
