I had a wake up call at 4am the other day – literally and it was a real eye-opening experience. I was able to reflect on some important issues in my life and am taking steps to change. As always I want to blog, I like it as a form of self expression. Since there’s no time like the present, I’m starting the weekend with a fast four.
Maria Shriver has a new book out and I can’t wait to read it. I love that as powerful and accomplished as she is, Maria leads her bio with Mom. Being a mom is hard and being a working mom is especially challenging – particularly in the positions she’s held. The fact that she doesn’t shy away from it but wears it as a badge of honor is encouraging. The Shrivers have always been an inspiration to me.
My other inspiration, Eleanor Roosevelt, was beautifully honored by Old Navy (in addition to the other 5 public statues of women in New York).
Sugar has been having some bad effects on me lately so I’ve really had to cut back. One treat I allowed myself this week was some bons. These little candies aren’t cheap ($3 each) but SO good! The owner Alex is the sweetest and that makes it easy for me to buy (too many) chocolates. If you’re looking for something special – get some bons!
I finally caved and bought curtains for the dining room and talk about a transformation! I’ll be blogging those before and afters soon. I got them on sale because curtains are ridiculously expensive!!!
