Notes From Home vol. 1

Although I don’t really have time to blog, I miss it and I miss having a reminder to myself about life. So instead of fancy edited pictures and themes/links. I’m going to make an effort to just do mini recaps weekly so I know what my kids like and remember when we did house projects.

Summer arrived early this year and I’m really glad I bought a splash pad ($22 from Amazon – of which I am otherwise giving up but it was purchased earlier). Lucas loves it and even Sam went in it.

Both boys are a handful but sweeties and starting to be friends. Sam calls Lucas ‘ish’ and everyone else Dada so Lucas is thrilled to have a special name. We got them bunk beds and it’s working out which is also nice.

I finished my Book of the Month Club pick for May and liked it. The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd about the fictional wife of Jesus. I’m not religious but I am spiritual and have been feeling God speak to me lately – which is not at all something I would ever think I’d say. But during a global pandemic it has given me peace in recent weeks.

Danny has been super busy with home projects – built a floating deck, flower bed and garden box with a removable gate to keep critters out.

I also started running again! I’m SO out of shape but feel good as I get moving. Currently I try to run 2.5 miles a day and my times are 11:45 miles. I ran a mile for speed today and only cut it down by a minute which was a bit disappointing but I know I’ll get better.
