Rita Wilson recently retweeted Tracee Ellis Ross and I discovered her YouTube channel. Girlfriends is one of my favorite shows and it was a serious oversight on my part to not include it on my list. It was fun, witty and honest. It definitely helped make me feel comfortable in my own skin.
Tracee’s video made me think about being more comfortable with my own hair. Definitive progress has been made in the past couple years and I don’t hate it quite as much as I use to but I’d still trade it away in a second.
Nevertheless, I told my MEP girls they can find something positive to say with the Perfect 10 activity and so can I. Here goes nothing:
- I love my hair because it surprises people.
- I love my hair because it’s something I share with my sister.
- I love my hair because it challenges me to accept the inevitable.
