I loved decorating our first apartment but it was a lot of work for not too much time spent there. I wanted to be sure to avoid that mistake this time around. At the same time I wanted to give our current home a homey feel and some Detroit accents were a must. I pulled out the photos we had in our old apartment for the bathroom and removed the unnecessary hardware to make it look a bit more chic. I also upgraded the frames and found a pack of four at Michael’s for $20.
Our entry way is bleak to put it mildly. We really need a rug but in the meantime I found this great poster on Amazon of old Detroit. It’s fun to compare the picture to Detroit today: our – now – signature RenCen isn’t glistening against the water and there is no 28 story federal “prison” mucking up the landscape. In another affordable find I picked up a great poster frame, only $23 at Target.
