Month 7

part 3

I’ve reached the point where my shirt kind of hangs there… the transition from second to third trimester has begun and I’m not sure I’m ready. The second trimester was a breeze. I’m still on the meds but they work so I can eat what I like (but with the luxury of no cravings). I finally started showing but it wasn’t cumbersome. And I mostly felt like me which was nice. Like a flipped switch, these last couple days I have started to notice a transition but I take pleasure in knowing that with each passing week Lucas enters a safer zone in case he decides to make a break for it. Fortunately, there are no hints of that and I’m hoping for a calm December before things start to get real in January.

How far along?  27 weeks and 6 days
Total weight gain/loss: 19lbs! I see this number increasing rapidly and have started going back to the gym for low intensity cardio.
Maternity clothes? Yes. So far many of the ‘maternity’ clothes were just size large but I think those days are coming to a close and I’m going to require a shopping trip.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Surprisingly good. Most nights I only wake up because the guys I sleep with love to kick their legs – yes BOTH of them.
Best moment to date: His kicks and punches. I look forward to them every minute of every day and hate it when he goes MIA (so even the mid evening kicks are welcome).
Miss Anything? I am surprised that I miss having a drink – I didn’t think I would but alas – grown up pleasures.
Movement: Yes but he’s pretty fickle about it. I swear this boy knows when we’re at home because he’ll almost exclusively move around then. It seems he will be a hermit like his Dad and Grandpa B…
Food cravings: Nope.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I’ve tried many times to go off unisom. I am down to a half tablet but to go off it completely leaves me immobile.
Have you started to show yet: See above
Gender: Boy – Lucas Mikhail
Looking forward to: The baby shower this weekend. I love any excuse to get my peeps together.
