Life is hard these days. I could sugar coat it but I’m not going to. I’m accepting it as a phase of life and if in the future I face other challenges I want to remember that it wasn’t the first time or likely the last.
That said, I also want to be positive, do something that I enjoy (ie blogging) and record the fun things happening around here. October is always a busy month, it kicks off the holiday season, it’s our wedding anniversary and Danny’s birthday. Here’s what I’m looking forward to.
Fall Fun in Livonia
Wilson Barn has Pumpkinfest every day in October and mom and I took the boys up for a pony ride, pumpkin and pictures. The boys and I will go back with Danny for the haunted house and hayride.
Greenmead has a Halloween Walk and I’m excited to see what it’s like – I’m also really excited because we have a fun family costume this year!
Grown-Up Fun In Detroit
Danny got us a NextGen membership at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for our anniversary as a way to ensure we make time for dates. We are actually going to miss the first event BUT there is an afternoon performance of Queens of Soul on Friday morning and I think I might go for a little me-time.
In addition to our anniversary dinner, our big October date will be seeing Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin at the Fox Theatre! I’m so excited to see my favorite ladies and grateful to Danny for joining me on HIS birthday – I’ll definitely make him a cake this year.
There are A LOT of new restaurants in Detroit these days and we may check one out or try a new to us place, here are the contenders:
Family Time Up North
Chicago was amazing and relaxing two days for me. My mom thought another overnight getaway would be fun and is treating us to a mini getaway Up North. The Dow Gardens is our main attraction but we’ll try to fit in a few things:
Other monthly goals including cleaning up the house (documenting this #cleaningchallenge on Instagram), getting family pictures and honestly not being too busy.
