Another busy weekend has come and gone.
Friday night we went to Aunt Margaret’s for dinner with Mom and then stopped by Auntie’s for Anthony and Andrew’s birthday. Since we didn’t leave AM’s until 10 p.m. I kidnapped Mom and D for the trip to Auntie’s and it went surprisingly well. Mom didn’t have any problems so I was relieved.
Saturday I woke up early to go to Secretary of State for my name change. Let’s just say it was an unpleasant experience and the state of Michigan is on my list. I ran more name changing related errands and then it was time to check out the rental house. To say it was small is an understatement. It was basically a shoe box. It had no appliances and no storage in the back. Apparently the owners are willing to increase the rent by $125 a month to supply appliances. Clearly these people are desperate and I don’t want to be involved in that. After that I went home and made dinner for the Irish game at Mr. B’s. The Irish blew it out the water and are NUMBER ONE! They absolutely must beat USC next week so they can go to the National Championship. After that Cory came over to hang out with Danny. I stayed for a bit but then went to Mom’s and hung out. We had a great visit. Then Danny and I went to the Hakala’s for SNL.
Sunday I went straight to the gym since I hadn’t been since Wednesday. I read, did some meal planning, and thank you cards. We had planned to get personalized thank-you cards with a wedding picture on them but since we still don’t have our pictures I decided just to send regular stationary. We watched the Lions lose and then I started cooking. I made Butterbeer cupcakes for Gina and sweet and sour chicken with friend rice for us. The cupcakes appeared to be enjoyed by my co-workers and the chicken was one of the best things I’ve ever made. I highly recommend it! After dinner Danny took me on my latest romantic adventure – Wayne County Lighfest. I’ve been going since I was a kid. It’s fun to cruise down Hines Drive, listen to Christmas music and relax. Definitely a Christmas tradition we plan to keep.
